Bible Verses for Fear — Finding Peace When You're Afraid
Fear is one of the most human things there is — and Scripture never shames it. "Do not be afraid" is one of the most repeated phrases in the Bible, not as a scold but as a promise: you are not facing this alone. Whether your fear is loud and sudden or a quiet dread that won't lift, God meets you in it. These verses aren't meant to erase fear by willpower, but to anchor you to the One who is bigger than what frightens you.
Key Bible Verses for Fear
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
The promise isn't the absence of danger, but the presence of God inside it.
"I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears."
Fear is something to bring to God, not hide from him.

Name the fear honestly — write it down if it helps. Then read Psalm 56:3 slowly and put your own situation in it. Fear shrinks when it's spoken to God instead of rehearsed alone.

Father, I'm afraid, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. You already know. Would you come close in this? Quiet what I can't quiet myself. Remind me you are here, that you go before me, and that nothing I'm facing is bigger than you. I put my trust in you — help my trust grow. Amen.
